We are excited to announce Kesha as the headliner for the Greenwich International Film Festival’s EPIC Anniversary Party taking place on Saturday, June 1st at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY. In addition to being a Grammy nominated singer, Kesha has been an active advocate for human and animal rights. She has been recognized by PETA, GLAAD and the Human Rights Campaign; just to name a few. After facing her own struggle with eating disorders, Kesha partnered with The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) for #NEDAwarenessWeek by promoting NEDA’s resources on her social media.
In 2013, Kesha was awarded the Wyler Award on behalf of the Humane Society of the United States for being an outspoken advocate for the animals. ‘“My affinity with animals and the natural world inspires me and my music. I don’t understand how anyone can justify abusing or exploiting animals”’. (Look To The Stars)
Kesha rose to fame in 2010 with the release of her album, Animal. This album included the song Tik Tok, which received 8X Platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America. She also released Warrior in 2012 and Rainbow in 2017. Kesha was discovered by Flo Rida and collaborated with him on “Right Round” which was released in 2009. She has also collaborated with Macklemore, The Strokes, and Zedd in more recent years. In 2013, she collaborated with Pitbull on “Timber”, which quickly rose to the #1 spot on the Billboard 100 for three consecutive weeks and was awarded 6X Platinum certification.
