The 2017 award season kicked off in true hollywood style with the Golden Globe Awards. La La Land and Moonlight took home the top prizes of the evening, with Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, Casey Affleck and Isabelle Huppert winning the top acting prizes. Here are some of our favorite looks from the evening!
Amy Adams in Tom Ford
Amy Adams can do no wrong, on the big screen and on the red carpet. With two sensational performances this year in Arrival and Nocturnal Animals, her Golden Globes nomination was well deserved. Dressed in a chic, black sequin Tom Ford gown, Amy continues to dominate award season fashion year after year. We are excited to see if Amy and Tom Ford will pair up again for future award shows. Match made in heaven!
Emma Stone in Valentino
The stars aligned for La La Land at the Golden Globes this year, and Emma Stone fit right in with her blush Valentino star-embellished gown. La La Land took home a total of 7 Golden Globes, including Best Picture – Comedy or Musical and Best Actress for Emma Stone. If you haven’t already, run to see this film in theaters. The film is simply magical!
Naomi Harris in Armani
The Golden Globes would not be complete without a little bit of gold shining on the red carpet. Naomi Harris, star of the Golden Globe winner Moonlight, looked sensational in an Armani column gown. The subtle texture added the perfect element to this simple, sophisticated look. We are excited to see more Naomi Harris on the red carpet this award season.
Blake Lively in Versace
Blake Lively knows how to steal the show. Attending the Golden Globes to support husband Ryan Reynolds’ nomination for Deadpool, Blake looked incredible in a black Versace gown with gold embellishments. We can’t decide what we love more, the pockets or the gigantic emeralds on her wrists.
Annette Bening in Pamella Roland
Annette Bening left us speechless at the Golden Globes, showing everyone that age is never a factor on the red carpet. Nominated for her incredible performance in 20th Century Women, Annette Bening showed everyone that she knows her way on a red carpet. The Pamella Roland gown was perfectly paired with an elegant clutch and simple jewels, letting the dress speak for itself. Simply stunning.
Natalie Portman in Prada
Yellow dresses were a trend at the 2017 Golden Globes, but no one pulled it off quite like Natalie Portman. Nominated for her performance in Jackie, Natalie Portman and her plus one (baby!) looked flawless wearing a canary yellow bespoke Prada gown. Her maternity style has been simple and elegant, and we can not wait to see what else she will wear this award season. Jackie Kennedy would be proud.
Tracee Ellis Ross in Zuhair Murad
The rings say it all. Tracee Ellis Ross looked like a million dollars on the red carpet at the Golden Globes in her Zuhair Murad tea-length dress. We were so proud to see the Greenwich-native win Best Actress in a Comedy for her role on Black-ish. Congrats Tracee!
Jessica Biel in Elie Saab
Jessica Biel proved to everyone on the red carpet that a deep V-neckline and a high slit can work on a gown. This gorgeous Elie Saab dress is the perfect combination of simple and trendy, with each detail begging for attention. It was lovely to see Jessica supporting husband Justin Timberlake for his Best Original Song nomination. Fingers crosse we see her on the rd carpet again this award season.
Felicity Hoffman in Georges Chakra
Felicity Hoffman looked incredible in a two-toned Georges Chakra jumpsuit, paired perfectly with glowing skin and a elegant blow-out. Nominated for her role in American Crime, this red carpet pro made everyone envious of her simple, flawless look.
Jenna Bush Hager in Lela Rose
Special shout out to GIFF Board Member Jenna Bush Hager who looked absolutely stunning on the red carpet. The off-the-shoulder Lela Rose gown paired perfectly with her statement turquoise earrings. Jenna looked like a red carpet pro and we can’t wait to see her at GIFF in June!
